Lunar Gemini

We are both suckled by the moon, hence
We go out together,
If there’s another reason, I don’t know it,
We’re as different as night and day,
Except for certain nighttime encounters

She sweats, I sting, she laughs, I yell,
She slides through the crowds
While I block them for her so we can enjoy
A little cabinet to ourselves
In whatever booth or priority seating I find

Yet despite it all, we are both entranced
By the same image,
Always stopping to gaze at the reflection
Of the moon in skyscraper windows,
Or glimmering in gutter puddles of gasoline
